How it works
What happens after you hit send.
Short version: you're in control of it, a person reads it, and nothing gets published that you didn't agree to.
You can stay completely anonymous
No name, no email, no account. If you'd like to be credited, you can choose that instead — it's never the default.
Publishing is optional, and not guaranteed
You tell us how we can use your story. If you ask us not to publish it, we won't. If you say yes, it still may not run — a real person reads everything and only some of it becomes a post.
We may lightly edit
Length, grammar, clarity, and identifying details. Your meaning and your voice stay yours. We won't manufacture a version of you that you didn't write.
You get a submission number
Keep it if you want to reference your story later without telling us who you are.
The house rule
Challenge the idea.
Don't attack the parent.
Disagreeing is fine — interesting, even. Different families do things differently, and that's usually the most useful part. What doesn't happen here is putting a parent on trial.
A few things we ask
- Leave out details that aren't needed to tell the story.
- Don't name schools, workplaces or private individuals unless it genuinely matters.
- Don't send anything you don't have permission to share.
- Parent experiences here are not professional or medical advice.
- Personal attacks aren't welcome — not on parents, not on partners, not on kids.
